Melting Snow To Refreeze Tonight, Creating Icy Conditions In New Canaan FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Tuesday may have felt relatively pleasant in Fairfield County compared to last week, with temperatures warming to near 40, but a drop in temperature after sunset tonight will result in icy conditions on roads and walkways. Temperatures will drop to below freezing after the sun goes down, and by 6 to 7 p.m., temperatures will start falling into the 20s.
