Firefighters Rescue Six From Pond After Falling Through Ice Six people were rescued from an icy pond after falling through thin ice. The incident took place around 11 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 23, at Burr Mountain Pond in Torrington, said the Torrington Fire Department. According to the department, five ice anglers had fallen through the ice or were stuck on the ice. An additional bystander also got stuck on the ice when they attempted to help. John Rodriguez, a graduate of Westchester Business Institute, was hired as a Greenwich Police officer in 1992. He served as a dispatcher, field training officer, and traffic accident investigator.
