New Canaan's Teddy Berg, 90, Was Known For Her Gardens Theodora (Teddy) Banning Gibson Berg passed away in her sleep on Monday, Aug. 14th at her home in New Canaan, surrounded by her loving children and her two adored cats, Whitey and Tabby.  After a long battle with kidney disease, Teddy eventually died of complications while receiving hospice care in her home for the last nine months. Teddy was born on July 7, 1933 in Mount Vernon, NY to John Peck Banning and Irene Finer Banning. She was a courageous fighter who far outlived her diagnosis. Formerly of New Canaan, CT, Toni was born September 28, 1959 in Settefrati, Italy. Gesualdi was born on May 16, 1943, in Stamford to the late Vito and Vera Coco Gesualdi. He was a firefighter with the New Canaan Fire Department for 34 years and was ranked as a Captain of the department. New Canaan Youth Sports Coach Killed In Massachusetts Crash A New Canaan man died after crashing his truck on Interstate 195 in Dartmouth, Mass., on Friday. Richard Carroll was killed around 3 p.m. Friday, July 20, after his 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 4-by-4 pickup truck hit the Highland Avenue overpass bridge, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle. The crash is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police. The 72-year-old Carroll was a 27-year resident of New Canaan and coached youth soccer and basketball.  Visiting hours will be held at the Hoyt Funeral Home on Thursday, July 2…
