Dean's List Student Killed In Crash Was HS Football Player In Fairfield County The 22-year-old Fairfield County college student who died in a vehicle crash was a well-known football and rugby player. Brandon Hensel, of Newtown, was killed around 5 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 28 on Toddy Hill Road in Newtown, according to police. Hensel, who was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer, was discovered on a property on Quarry Ridge Road and was transported by Newtown Ambulance to Danbury Hospital where he died on Monday, March 1, said Newtown PD Lieutenant Aaron Bahamonde.
