Handicapped Motorists Parked In Metered Lots Will Now Be Charged In New Canaan In the near future, handicapped motorists parking in New Canaan will have to pay to park in metered lots following a vote by the Parking Commission. Officials voted 4-1 (Crum against)  to begin charging handicapped permit-holders who park in designated spaces in the lots at Morse Court and Center School, according to city documents. During the meeting, Chairman Keith Richey stated that handicapped motorists park for free on downtown streets such as Elm, just as non-handicapped people do.
