Fairfield County Resident Who Made Mark In Real Estate, Automobile, Insurance Industries Dies
A Connecticut resident who grew up in Westchester County and worked in insurance, automobiles, and real estate over the course of his career has died at the age of 78.
Fairfield County resident Kurt Hothorn Jr., of Greenwich, died at Greenwich Hospital on Friday, Sept. 23, according to his obituary.
He was born in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, his obituary said.
Hothorn graduated from Concordia Prep, and he went on to study at Valparaiso University in Indiana.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, his obituary said.

Patient Accused Of Assaulting Staffer At Hospital In Fairfield County
A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly attacking an area hospital employee and making threats.
Brian Dougherty, age 51, of Stamford, was arrested around 3:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, after Greenwich Police Officers responded to Greenwich Hospital, authorities said.
Dougherty assaulted a member of the hospital staff and made threats, said Greenwich PD Capt. Mark E. Zuccerella.
He was charged with assaulting a public health worker, threatening, and disorderly conduct.
Dougherty was held on a $10,000 bond which he was unable to post.
Four Fairfield County Residents Test Positive For Covid-19, Including Child, Lamont Says
Four Fairfield County residents have tested positive for the novel strain of the coronavirus, including a child, as well as one person in Litchfield County, Gov. Ned Lamont announced.
The child who tested positive is from Stratford, state officials said during a press conference on Thursday afternoon, March 12. The Stratford School district has closed all of its schools.
In addition to the child, a Stamford woman in her 60s also tested COVID-19 position. She had recently returned from a trip to Italy. The woman is being treated at Stamford Hospital.

Greenwich Police Officer Dies Suddenly
A Greenwich police officer died suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 17, during a medical emergency, the department said.
Justin Quagliani, 38, died around 5 a.m., after suffering a medical emergency at his Greenwich residence while off-duty, said the Greenwich Police Department.
Police and Greenwich Emergency Medical Service personnel responded to his residence, attempted lifesaving efforts and then transported him to Greenwich Hospital where he was eventually declared dead, the department said.
