Beloved Pound Ridge Store Owner From Stamford Dies: Lived 'Extraordinary Life' A well-known man from Fairfield County who owned a beloved store in Northern Westchester has died.  Stamford resident Joseph DiPietro, Sr. died on Friday, Feb. 10 at the age of 90, according to his obituary. DiPietro, who lived an "extraordinary life," was the owner of Chubby's Hardware in Pound Ridge located at 68 Westchester Ave., which was named after his childhood nickname, his obituary said. Luke Walter Kostrzewski, a former resident of Darien, died unexpectedly in Charleston, South Carolina, on Tuesday, July 19, according to his obituary. He was born in Stamford and graduated from Darien High School. According to his obituary, Kostrzewski also graduated from the College of Charleston, and he had plans to continue his education. New Haven County resident Ryan Rutledge, age 17, of Southbury, died on Monday, April 5, after his Jeep went off the roadway around 10:35 p.m., and hit a wire rope guardrail, before the vehicle traveled down an embankment and into the Pomperaug River, said the Southbury Police. With the PGA Championship heading to Bethpage Black in Farmingdale from Monday, May 13, through Sunday, May 19, some tickets are still available for both the practice rounds (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) and championship rounds (Thursday and Friday). Tickets for the main event on Saturday and Sunday have been sold out for some time, as are week-long grounds tickets.
