Redding resident Greg McGuiness, 37, was arrested last week after he posted photos holding an AK-47 and making comments about shooting police officers, investigators said. Man Charged With Killing His Brother In Bethel Pleads Not Guilty A Bethel man arrested for killing his older brother has pleaded not guilty to murder charges. Matthew J. O'Dell, 40, was arrested on murder charges on Wednesday, Nov. 13, by Bethel Police.  The prosecutor said his brother, Richard O'Dell, 42, had been shot four times in the head at close range. During the hearing where O'Dell pleaded not guilty, attorneys said that he suffered from mental health issues. Stratford Man Sentenced For Purchasing Firearms For Felon A Fairfield County man will spend time behind bars after being sentenced for purchasing firearms for a convicted felon in Connecticut. Tymon Peterson, 29, of Stratford, has been sentenced to two months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for his role in an illegal gun purchase at a Newington gun store. The first four months will be served in home confinement, and Peterson was ordered to serve the first four months of his release in home confinement and must pay a $1,800 fine.
