A 51-year-old man was charged with a DUI by police who observed him swerving over the yellow dividing line in Fairfield County. Police say officers pulled over Juan Gonzalez, of New Fairfield, on Route 7 (Danbury Road) in Wilton in the area of Old MIll Road at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 24. He reportedly appeared drunk, failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breathalyzer test, Wilton Police said. A 25-year-old man attempted to flee from officers on foot after allegedly driving through an intersection, hopping a curb, going over a sidewalk and through a fence before striking a pine tree in Fairfield County, police said. Shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, the Westport Police Department received reports of a vehicle at the intersection of Long Lots Road and Bayberry Lane that appeared to have been involved in a car crash. A 46-year-old man was nabbed for DUI after allegedly weaving over the fog line early in the morning. Efrain Ortiz of Bridgeport was arrested around 3 a.m., Tuesday, July 16, when a Wilton Police Officer allegedly saw him weaving over the fog line on Chestnut Hill Road, said the Wilton Police Department. When officers talked with Ortiz he allegedly showed signs of impairment and was unable to perform a field sobriety test, police said. A 53-year-old Norwalk motorist is facing DUI charges after crossing the double-yellow line in Greenwich, police say. On Saturday, Jan. 26 around 2 a.m., police observed Graciela Martinez driving west on East Putnam Avenue between Salem Street and Indian Field Road. Her vehicle was observed in the southernmost lane crossing over the double-yellow line into the Eastbound lane. A Norwalk man was busted by Wilton police for driving under the influence after failing to maintain a single lane. Gerardo Corona-Villalpando, 25, was arrested Saturday around 10 p.m. after officers saw him driving over the center line and then make a turn from a non-turn lane on Danbury Road, said Wilton Police.
