There's something people come in contact with every day that's being called a "silent killer" responsible for about 20 percent of deaths worldwide in 2018. A new study by various top universities has found that air pollution killed 8.7 million people globally in 2018 - about one in five deaths. Godiva Chocolate is closing all of its North American stores. The mass closure will affect 128 stores in the United States and Canada. Outposts in Europe, the Middle East, and China will remain open. The first case of COVID-19 reinfection has been confirmed in the United States. The man, a 25-year-old in Reno, Nevada, was first infected in mid-April. Darien Teen Earns Spot In National Geography Bee Finals
Only 54 finalists remain in competition to display their knowledge of the world's geography. A 13-year-old boy from Darien is among the lucky contestants headed to the National Championship at National Geographic Society Headquarters on May 20 through 23 in Washington, D.C. James Leone, a Darien eighth-grader, won the state competition in April to qualify for the national geography bee. The winner receives a $50,000 college scholarship and a trip to the Galapagos Islands. Leone also hopes to travel to Iceland, South Africa, Europe and Australia some day.
