94-Year-Old CT Woman Drowns At State Park Beach A 94-year-old Connecticut woman drowned while swimming at a state park beach. The incident occurred in New Haven County at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison on Thursday, June 20. 12-Year-Old Attacked By Bobcat In Backyard Of Fairfield Home, Police Say Police and wildlife officials are on the lookout for a bobcat after a 12-year-old boy was attacked. The attack took place around 7:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 16, in Fairfield in the area of Brett Road, police said. According to Fairfield Police, a caller said that his son was in the backyard of their residence and encountered what he believed to be a bobcat.  The child suffered a minor scratch to a finger and a torn shirt during the encounter. Man Rescued After Nearly Drowning In Fairfield County A 35-year-old local man is lucky to be alive after nearly drowning in a restricted swimming area at Indian Well State Park in Shelton. The Milford resident was swimming in the area of the waterfalls when he began having trouble shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to DEEP officials. EnCon, along with Shelton emergency services responded to the park for the report of a drowning, said Chris Collibee, DEEP spokesman.  “Witnesses performed CPR until EMS arrived,” he said.  The man was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital by Life Star helicopter.
