Avoid The Area: 14 Hours Of Emergency Sewer Repair Work Scheduled For Route 1 Stretch Due to a significant breakage issue with the main sanitary sewer line on a stretch of Route 1, approximately 14 hours of emergency sewer repair work has been scheduled in Darien. Contractors working for the Town of Darien Department of Public Works will be performing the replacement work on Tuesday, May 14 in the area of Post Road and Birch Road, starting at approximately 6 a.m. The work is expected to go until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, Darien Police said.  Access into Birch Road from Route 1 will not be available for the majority of the day and motorists will be required…

Downed power lines forced the closure of a part of the interstate in southeastern Connecticut at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, according to officials.
