Two Longtime Members Of Greenwich Police Force Announce Retirements Two longtime members of the Greenwich Police department have retired after a combined 50 years on the force. Lt. John Rodriguez, a graduate of Westchester Business Institute, was hired as a Greenwich Police officer in 1992. He served as a dispatcher, field training officer, and traffic accident investigator. Rodriguez was promoted sergeant in 2009, and to lieutenant in 2017. Over the years, Rodriguez has also served as a crisis negotiator and a crisis intervention team member. The course is a first step in preparing for the life-saving profession, or preparation for anyone who wants to be ready in an emergency. EMTs are trained to give Basic Life Support treatments, such as performing CPR, bandaging wounds, stabilizing broken bones and resuscitate drowning victims.
