Good Samaritan Helps Catch Fairfield County Man Who Snatched Purse From Elderly Woman A Fairfield County man was nabbed with the help of a Good Samaritan for allegedly pushing down an elderly woman and stealing her purse. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, while Bridgeport Police officers were on the scene of a call for service and two men ran by and one told them the first man had committed the robbery, said Scott Appleby, director of emergency management. Know Them Or This Mercedes? Man, Woman Accused In Lottery Scam, Norwalk Police Say Norwalk Police are asking the public's help in identifying the alleged pair of thieves that targeted an elderly victim in a lottery scam. One of the alleged suspect's photo is seen in an April 24 post on the Norwalk, CT Police Twitter page on April 24. According to police, two suspects drove a black 2019 Mercedes sports utility vehicle, with a Massachusetts plate number 8WY599. The man pictured was accompanied by a woman in her 40s, according to the police post. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Aura at the Norwalk Police Department at 203-854-3039.

Wanted: Alert Issued For Bridgeport Robbery Suspect Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man wanted for allegedly robbing an elderly victim last year. According to Bridgeport Police, the robbery took place on Nov. 23, 2018, on Hanover Street.  The suspect is said to have worked or works as a mechanic at various garages in the city of Bridgeport. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bridgeport Police Tips Line at 203-576-TIPS (8477).
