CT Police Officer Shoots Man During Welfare Check A Connecticut police officer who went to check on someone’s well-being ended up shooting the person, police said. The shooting took place in Litchfield County around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, when officers were sent on a welfare check of a person in Torrington. “Upon arrival, an officer was confronted by a male party and was forced to fire his service weapon,” said Det. Kevin L. Tieman, of the Torrington Police. The man, who was shot multiple times, was taken to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and later airlifted to Hartford Hospital, Tieman said. Police Officer Injured In Head-On CT Crash A Connecticut police officer was injured along with several others during a head-on crash with a vehicle that allegedly crossed the center line on a busy roadway. The crash took place in Hartford County around 4:45 p.m., Tuesday, March 15 in Glastonbury on Hebron Avenue. An investigation found that a Ford Fusion was traveling west on Hebron Avenue crossed the center line just west of Hawthorne Mead Drive, sideswiped a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling in the opposite direction, and then struck a Glastonbury Police cruiser head-on, said Lt. Police Officer Involved In CT Crash Police Officer Involved In CT Crash
Police Officer Involved In CT Crash A Connecticut police officer received minor injuries during a two-car crash. The crash occurred in New Haven County when the Hamden officer was involved in a crash with another car around 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 11, in Hamden. The crash took place at the intersection of Evergreen Avenue and School Street, said Det. Sean Dolan, of the Hamden Police Department. The officer and driver of the other vehicle were both transported to the hospital with minor injuries, Dolan added.  There were no other passengers in the vehicles. The crash remains under investigation.
