Popular Area Concession Stand To Close
A popular concession stand at Westport’s Compo Beach is shutting down amid a dispute over rent, officials said. The Westport Parks and Recreation Department announced that effective immediately, Joey’s By The Shore, which has operated at Compo Beach for years, will no longer be operational. Officials noted that the business will also no longer operate at the town's Longshore Pavilion and the Longshore Halfway House. Police were taken on a wild ride after a woman allegedly drove into a Westport town employee, failed to pay a cab driver and struck a police officer with her car door while he was trying to assist him, according to a Westport police report released this week.
