Fairfield Man Nabbed With Child Porn, Police Say A man was charged with alleged possession of child pornography following a months-long investigation in Connecticut. Matthew Wood, age 50, of Fairfield, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 22, by Stratford Police. In October, Stratford detectives, using software to target suspects obtaining child sexual abuse material, initiated an investigation into Wood, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti. The incident happened in Stratford around 3:20 p.m., Sunday, June 12 at the store located at 1606 Barnum Ave. Officers responded after gunfire erupted in the store, said Capt. Man Killed, Woman Injured, During Shooting In Fairfield County, Police Say Police in Fairfield County are investigating a homicide of a man and the shooting of a woman. The shootings were uncovered around 1 a.m., Friday, Dec. 17, when the Stratford Police Department responded to Light Street near Barnum Avenue. The unidentified man and woman were shot by an unknown assailant, According to Capt Frank Eannotti of the Stratford Police Department. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Three Vehicles Stolen From Fairfield County Auto Dealership, Police Say Three vehicles were stolen from a Fairfield County auto dealership. Stratford Police said officers responded to a reported burglary at Blasius South, a dealership at 280 Ferry Blvd., around 4 a.m., Sunday, August 1, after an unknown person or group of people forced their way into the business. Possibly three cars were stolen from the dealership, said Capt. Frank Eannotti.  He said the building was also damaged during the theft. The investigation is ongoing. Police Investigating Homicide Of Man In Fairfield County Stratford Police are investigating the shooting death of a Fairfield County man. Anthony Martinez, 37 of Bridgeport was shot and killed on Wednesday, Nov. 18, in the area of 402 Burritt Ave., in Stratford, said Capt. Frank Eannotti. According to Eannotti, the homicide was discovered after the department received information regarding a gunshot victim at Bridgeport Hospital.  Hospital staff advised that the shooting allegedly occurred in Stratford, he said.
