Stamford Man In Need Of Kidney Dialysis Given Stay Of Deportation A Stamford man who was on the verge of being deported to Hondorus despite having serious kidney disease has received a six-month reprieve from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy. “While this is welcome news, a six-month stay is not enough, especially considering that the hospital cannot perform the kidney transplant necessary to keep Mr. Santos alive without at least a year of post-op recovery time," Malloy said.  Nelson Rosales Santos, 49, has lived in Stamford for more than 30 years when he came to this country from Honduras in 1989.
