Stabbing Victim Shoots, Kills Attacker In Bridgeport A 25-year-old Fairfield County man was killed after being shot in the chest by a man he allegedly stabbed multiple times. The incident took place in Bridgeport around 6:20 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 8 on the 500 block of Brooks Street. Bridgeport Police responded to the area on reports of a stabbing and shots fired, said Capt. Armed Home Invasion: Suspects On Run After Incident At Occupied Fairfield County Residence Police in Fairfield County are searching for armed men who allegedly broke into an occupied home. The incident took place in Bridgeport around 9 a.m., Monday, Jan. 30 in the 600 block of Brooks Street. Bridgeport Police officers responded after receiving a 911 call of a burglary in progress, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management. When officers arrived, they found a home invasion while a woman and her two children were at home by several armed men, Appleby said. One Dead, Several Seriously Injured After Car Runs Stop Sign At Busy Intersection, Police Say One person was killed and numerous people injured in a two-vehicle early morning crash when a speeding vehicle ran a stop sign. The crash took place in Fairfield County around 2:03 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, at the intersection of Brooks and Jane streets in Bridgeport. According to police,  the crash involved a dark gray Honda Accord that was traveling northbound on Brooks Street at a high rate of speed, said Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran.
