Woman, Juvenile Charged With Destroying Headstone At Bridgeport Cemetery, Police Say A 19-year-old woman and juvenile have been charged with allegedly destroying a headstone at a Bridgeport cemetery.  The incident took place in Bridgeport at the Lakeview Cemetery on Boston Avenue on Sunday, Feb. 26. Through investigative means, Bridgeport Police detectives were able to positively identify the suspects responsible for the crime, said Scott Appleby, director of the Bridgeport Office of Emergency Management. Tractor-Trailer Fire Causes Power Outage At Stop & Shop In Fairfield County A tractor-trailer caught fire after it was tangled in low-hanging power lines, causing outages to area homes and businesses. Stop & Shop on Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport was among those left in the dark at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, when a truck caught fire on Spruce Street near the intersection of Albion Street. Man, Woman Charged With Attempted Home Burglary Two Fairfield County residents were arrested after allegedly attempting to break into an area home. Billy Joe Santos, 43, and Maria Demelo, 57, both of Bridgeport, were arrested on Thursday, Feb. 27, after Bridgeport Police responded to a call of a burglary on Ezra Street, said Scott Appleby, director of the Bridgeport Office of Emergency Management. Responding police detained Demelo, and a K-9 officer was brought in to locate Santos, Appleby said.
