Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont said that there were 23,994 COVID-19 tests administered on Tuesday, Aug. 31, resulting in 712 new laboratory-confirmed cases of the virus. The 2.97 percent infection rate comes after days of the Department of Public Health recording rates exceeding 3 percent and peaking near 5 percent over the past month.
