Hundreds Take Part In Funeral For Firefighter Killed Battling Blaze: 'He Had Heart Of Gold' Mourners lined the roads leading to the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford on Monday, Oct. 28, to pay their respects to Robert "Sharkey" Sharkevich Sr. His casket was carried by a fire engine that was preceded by a cadre of police vehicles. His casket, draped in an American flag, was carried to its final resting place by his family and the firefighters who served alongside him.  Sharkevich Sr., age 66, was a lifelong firefighter. Husband, Father From Norwalk Dies In ATV Crash: 'His Life Was Full Of Potential' A Connecticut family is mourning the loss of a beloved husband and expectant father who was killed in an ATV crash. Fairfield County resident Andrii Yavorskyi, age 30, of Norwalk, died in the wreck that happened Friday, Oct. 27, in New York, according to New York State Police. An investigation determined that he was operating a Polaris Sportsman ATV in Boonville in Oneida County when he lost control on a sharp curve. Man Killed In 'Tragic' ATV Accident In CT, Police Say A Connecticut man was killed during what police are calling a "tragic" accident on an ATV. The crash took place in Litchfield County around 6:20 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 1 in the area of Hancock Court in Plymouth. Plymouth Police responded to the area after receiving a report of a medical emergency, the police department said. Upon arrival, a man in his 60’s was found to be involved in an ATV accident. CT Man Killed In ATV Crash While Riding With Brother, Friend A Connecticut man died in an ATV accident while riding with his brother and a friend. New Haven County resident Sebastian Constantini, age 47, of Oxford, was killed around 4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 27, in Madrid, Maine, after losing control of his vehicle and crashing. 15-Year-Old Killed In Northern Westchester ATV Crash A 15-year-old high school student was killed after he lost control of his all-terrain vehicle in Northern Westchester late Friday morning. State police said the crash occurred at around 11:30 a.m. on Blackberry Hill Road in Somers, just south of Somers High School and opposite Reis Park. The boy killed has been identified as Reece Ferrara of Somers. The ATV struck a concrete mailbox pillar, ejecting Ferrara from the vehicle, according to state police. He was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
