NEW CANAAN, Conn. Adam Connolly, a graduating senior at St. Luke's School and a four-year boys lacrosse player, has been named an All-American and Defensive Player of the Year by the Western New England Small School Lacrosse Association. It is the first time a boys lacrosse player from St. Luke's has received either honor.
The star goalie helped the Storm reach the league and New England finals en route to a 14-4 season. St. Luke's finished the season with the best regular season record in the Fairchester Athletic Association, 11-2.
"Both of these awards are well-deserved for Adam," St. Luke's boys lacrosse coach Corey Gammill said. "He is an incredible teammate, leader and he is the most coachable kid on the field. Adam has been a leader of this team for the last three years and both of these awards are fitting capstones to an incredible career."
Gammill was also honored as the Fairchester Athletic Association coach of the year. He was chosen by the other coaches in the league.
