FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. Eight boys soccer players from local high schools were named to the Connecticut Soccer Coaches Association all-state team.
Class LL all-state selections included Staples goalie James Hickok, Westhills Matteo Gallego, Norwalks Nick Zuniga, Fairfield Preps Will Steiner and Greenwichs Pieter Zenner. New Canaans Scott Levene and Jon-Luke Ferrandino were named to the Class L all-state team along with Wiltons Dillon Weed.
The all-state selections were based, in part, on coaches rankings of players on all-league teams. They will be honored at a dinner Jan. 29 at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington.
Hickok and Steiner were among three goalies selected to the Class LL team. Levene was one of three goalies named to the Class L team. All three are juniors.
