Runners Hustle On Main Street For New Canaan Mile

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Runners flew down Main Street in New Canaan last Saturday in the third edition of the New Canaan Mile, sponsored by New Canaan New Balance.

Money raised from the race supports a scholarship for a New Canaan High School student. Keaton McAuliffe won this year’s $1,000 scholarship.

Tim Milenkevich won the seeded race in 4:44, followed by Alex Ellsworth at 4:59 and Spencer Taylor at 5:15. Mary Zengo of Wilton won the women’s race in 5:41.

Chloe McAuliffe, 14, won the race for New Canaan citizens in 6:58. There was also a shorter kids race.

Other event sponsors were Karl Chevrolet, Stewart’s Market, Rosie’s, Joe’s Pizza and C&H Automotive.
