New Canaan Girls Track Wins a Pair

NEW CANAAN Conn. – New Canaan's girls track team earned a pair of wins in its most recent meet. The Rams defeated Brien McMahon, 101-54, and Bassick, 133-17.

Individual highlights included:

Isabelle Herde: first in discus and javelin, third in shot put; Emily Wood: first in 400 and 800; Cristina Konstantinovic, second in 100 hurdles and long jump, third in 300 hurdles; Maureen Schott, first in triple jump, third in 100 and 200; Steph Benko, first in 1,600 and third in 800; Emily Lamdin, first in pole vault and third in long jump; Isabel Hetherington, first in 3,200; and Jaclyn McCurdy, first in high jump.

New Canaan won the 4 x 100 relay with Julie Spindel, Katie DiFazio, Marina Braccio, Azadeh Amir-Aslani and the 4 x 400 relay with Spindel, DiFazio, Wood and Amir-Aslani.

Other seconds went to Beth Kelley (pole vault), Liz Gordon (400), Alexandra Naughton (800), Molly Joyce (discus) and Alexandra Yuditski (javelin).

Third-place finishes went to Allie BelBruno (pole vault), Samantha Santoni (400), Lana Del Vecchio (3,200), Lilly Baer (1,600), Marina Braccio (triple jump), Rebecca Evensen (discus) and Alexandra Naughton (high jump).
