NEW CANAAN, Conn. New Canaans girls' tennis team improved to 14-1 Monday with a 4-0 victory against St. Joseph. Three matches were not completed.
Courtney Gallagher and Kate Howard won in straight sets at first and third singles, respectively. Sara Greene and Kristin Laub won at first doubles, and Amanda Merjian and Phoebe Wilks won at second doubles. They also posted straight-set wins.
New Canaan plays Staples Tuesday at Shippan Racquet Club in the final regular season match. The Rams begin the conference tournament Thursday. The league championship is scheduled for May 23 at Wilton.
