Cristina Konstantinovic won two events to lead New Canaan in a girls track meet against Darien and Bassick. The Blue Wave defeated New Canaan, 96-49, while the Rams topped Bassick, 115-21.
Konstantinovic won the 100 hurdles and the long jump with a state-qualifying mark of 15 feet, 1 inch. She also took second in the 300 hurdles and triple jump.
Also for the Rams, Stephanie Benko won the 3,200 in a state-qualifying time of 11:45.0. Maureen Schott took first in the triple jump and second in the 100 and 200, and Melissa Escalante was second in the 800. Isabel Hetherington finished third in the 1,600, while pole vaulter Emily Lambdin and D. Martin (javelin) performed well in field events.
New Canaan competes at Greenwich Monday in its final regular season meet. The FCIAC championships are scheduled for May 24 at Danbury.
