NEW CANAAN, Conn. New Canaan's football team kicks off a new season Thursday at 6 p.m. when it visits Bassick of Bridgeport at Kennedy Stadium.
The Rams are coming off an 11-2 season in which they reached the Class L championship game. Their key returnee is quarterback Matt Milano, who set a state record with 42 touchdown passes last season. He also set school marks for yards passing, completions and attempts. The Rams have some graduation losses to replace, however, as they strive to win their seventh state championship since 2000.
