NEW CANAAN, Conn -- The New Canaan Senior 7 Red Team continued its mid-season move up the standings with a 21-6 road victory over Westport Senior 7 North in a Fairfield County Football League game.
New Canaan scored on its first drive of the game to take a 7-0 lead that its never relinquished. They dominated the line of scrimmage the entire game behind the blocking of Tyler Walker, Colin Daniels and Teddy Greenspun and power running of Tommy Root, Thomas Philipson and Ryan OConnell.
The defense, behind solid play from Will Sturcke, Mikey Gentile and Ryan Howe, frustrated the Westport offense, forcing several fumbled snaps and misplays. The special teams was solid with Scotty Lunz and Vincent Altamura leading the way. The win moved Red to 3-2 with a home game against Wilton Senior 7 North next Saturday.
