NEW CANAAN, Conn--The New Canaan 6th Grade Black Rams were defeated 19-7 by Darien Wave Saturday night at Dunning Stadium.
After Darien took a 6-0 lead early, New Canaan used a powerful ground attack to march the ball down the field behind long runs from Thomas Russo. The line was opening large holes led by Nick Potter, Max Holmberg, Charlie Hane, Will Ostrand, Hamilton Stuart and Harrison Kazlauskas. The Rams scored to tie the game, and Michael Tuffy kicked the extra point with David Kelly holding to put the Rams up 7-6.
The Ram defensive line was outstanding all night led by Owen Shin, Nicholas LaMorte and Hane. Darien converted on two big plays to grab the lead, and the Rams were not able to score despite great effort.
