“New Canaan Baseball/Softball has a long legacy of giving back to our town through youth instruction, field and park improvements and other community service. It is one of our town’s most valued organizations, and it has been a pleasure and honor to be associated with it for so many years,” Stephen J. Karl, vice president of KARL Chevrolet, said in a release from the car dealership.

The Chevy Youth Baseball initiative has local dealerships sponsor youth baseball and softball leagues with monetary and equipment donations, the website said.

New Canaan kids will be receiving new equipment bags, and batting helmets through the dealership’s donation. There will also be coupons given out to members of the leagues to enter a drawing to win a 2013 Chevy Traverse, high-definition televisions and other prizes, the release said.
