County Runners Compete in Pequot Race

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Cameron Marantz, of Philadelphia, and Meredith Anand, of Easton, were the men’s and women’s winners in the Pequot Runners 5-mile road race Thursday in Fairfield.

Marantz, 24, flew around the course in 25:05 in ideal running conditions on a flat, fast course that began at the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club in Southport. Anand finished overall in 28:49.

Westport teenager Henry Wynne, a junior at Staples High School, finished second in 26:09.  Luke McCambley, of Westport, was third in 26:11.

Stamford’s Sharon Lemberger took second in 29:16, followed by New Canaan’s Hope Krause in 29:17.

There were 4,223 runners in the race. Complete results are available online.
