In one of the most anticipated matchups of the FCIAC football slate, New Canaan will host Greenwich at 7 tonight. Both teams are sitting in must-win situations, with the Rams at 6-1 and the Cardinals at 5-2.
Many thought Greenwich's season was over before it had began after its stunning week one loss to Norwalk. The Cardinals have since found a powerful running game and clawed their way back into the postseason conversation. The Rams, meanwhile, have once again relied on a high-flying passing game, tearing up opponents' secondaries. Some critics suggested that New Canaan had an easy schedule when it fell to St. Joseph. But those same critics were quieted with its dominant week seven win over Wilton.
Greenwich is ranked 12th in Class LL; New Canaan is ranked 10th in Class L.
