Golfers from New Canaan and Weston fell in the quarterfinal of the Connecticut State Junior Amateur Wednesday at Watertown Golf Club. Brian Tohir of New Canaan lost in 20 holes, and Weston's Joseph D'Amato lost 1-up.
Tohir lost to John Jackopsic, who birdied the par-4 18th hole to force extra holes. Jackopsic won with a birdie on the par-4 second hole. Both players birdied the par-5 first hole.
D'Amato, the No. 32 seed who defeated top-seeded Chris Wiatr on Tuesday, lost to Jeff Hogan. D'Amato plays out of Wheeler Park in Bridgeport. Monte Mullen and Jeff Jud will play in the 18-hole final.
