School Auditorium Closed At New Canaan's Saxe For Rest Of Year Due To PCBs

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan has closed the auditorium at Saxe Middle School for the remainder of the school year due to the presence of PCBs, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.

The PCBs are the result of gray paint that was previously used to paint the floors in the auditorium, ceramics room and boiler room, the New Canaan Advertiser said.

As a result, events that had been scheduled to be held in the Saxe auditorium have been relocated:

Jan. 13: The Saxe Orchestra Concert at 7 p.m. will now be held at New Canaan High School.
Jan. 22: The Saxe seventh- and eighth-grade Band Concert at 7 p.m. will be held at NCHS.
Jan. 27: The Saxe fifth- and sixth-grade Band Concert at 7 p.m. will be held at NCHS
