The donations will come from a half-million-dollar fundraiser proposed to the town's selectmen and finance board by Jay Egan, the athletic director at the high school, said New Canaan Advertiser.

His presentation included an initiative to expand the stadium's bleachers on the home side, the press box, construct a new concession building with bathrooms and more, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.

Egan's proposal is in keeping with a 1997 promise when Dunning Field was built that it would not be an expense to taxpayers, said the New Canaan Advertiser.
