Egan stated as principal at New Canaan High School in July.

"I’ve been very impressed with the students and parents at the high school,” Egan said. “First of all, I’m most impressed with how kind everyone has been, to me, and to each other. They’re very successful academically, but are also just a great group of kids," he reportedly said, says the article.

Among goals, Egan wants to enhance the feeling of "community and culture" at the high school, says the report.
