The graduation ceremony is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Dunning Field, as long as there is no threat of thunderstorms, a letter from Principal Bryan Luizzi said. The school will wait out a passing shower, and will post updates on its website and automated phone message at 203-594-4000, option one, by 3 p.m.
The rain date would be Saturday at 10 a.m.
There are several rules attendees are asked to follow:
? Maintain proper decorum, and do not go out onto the field to take pictures.
? The ceremony should be serious and dignified. The school asks that no air horns, bubbles, beach balls or other “props” are brought to the ceremony.
? The field will open at 4 p.m. for families and friends, and the school suggests giving sufficient time to make your way to the graduation. South School will be open for parking.
? Spiked heels should not be worn on the field.
? The students and speakers will face the home stands and there will be ample room for attendees.
? After the ceremony and the students leave the field there will be a celebration at the Plaza at Dunning Field.
“Thank you for your cooperation. We believe that this ceremony will be one of the most special and memorable events in your child’s life. The Class of 2013 deserves no less. I look forward to seeing you at graduation,” Luizzi wrote in the letter.
