New Canaan High was the eighth-highest ranked high school in all of Fairfield County, and came in as the 15th-best in the state.
New Canaan's student population of 1,275 exceeded the state average in all of the surveys major metrics, which included: College readiness, mathematics proficiency and English proficiency. The school also boasts an Advanced Placement participation rate of 54 percent.
Several other high schools in Fairfield County were ranked in the Top 50 in the state, including:

- Wilton (No. 9)
- Ridgefield (No. 11)
- Joel Barlow (No. 13)
- Greenwich (No. 14)
- New Canaan (No. 15)
- Fairfield Ludlowe (No. 24)
- Fairfield Warde (No. 30)
- Westhill High (No. 32)
- Brien McMahon (No. 41)
- Academy of Information Technology (No. 43)
Honors for the top ranked high school in the Nutmeg State went to the Connecticut International Baccalaureate Academy in East Hartford.
