NEW CANAAN, Conn. — New Canaan High School was ranked as one of the best high schools in the country for preparing students for college, according to a list by the Daily Beast.
New Canaan was listed at 227th out of 2,000 schools and the fifth highest in the state out of 35 schools that made the list. Other area schools on the list include Weston at 190, Staples at 196, Darien at 204, Ridgefield at 270, Greenwich at 570, Fairfield Ludlow at 691, and Fairfield Warde at 973.
The list is made up of six components: graduation rate, college acceptance rate, AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE scores, and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP/IB/AICE course, the list said.
