An annual event that celebrates the school’s multiculturalism, Culture & Collaboration Day will focus this year on the school’s centennial. Through student and alumni voices and interactive historical pavilions, the event will highlight significant cultural and world events, as well as the school's and Horizons milestones through the decades leading up to the centennial.
Several hundred members of the NCCS/Horizons community are expected to attend. The day will begin with a panel discussion featuring NCCS and Horizons alumni speaking about their experiences of diversity and inclusion.
A Chilean troupe and Horizons/ NCCS students will perform dances. In addition, a letter from President Barack Obama commemorating the school’s centennial will be shared with attendees.
Attendees will also experience "Discover the Decades" – each decade will be represented at an interactive pavilion and will give a snapshot of historical events as well as NCCS and Horizons milestones that occurred at that time. Each pavilion will have an art, craft or other activity related to the decade for parents and children to experience.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.at the school, 635 Frogtown Road.
