New Canaan Boasts Top Three Elementary Schools In Connecticut

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan's South School was rated as the top elementary school in Connecticut, followed by the East and West Schools for a clean sweep of the top three spots in a ranking released by education research website, Niche.

Niche collected data and ranked each elementary school in the state based on the following criteria:

Academics
Overall district experience
Teachers grade
Student culture and diversity

South School excelled in academics with a 99 percent math proficiency score and a 93 percent in reading proficiency.

East and West Schools boasted similar academic results but each was docked for having a slightly less diversified student body.

Overall, schools in Fairfield County overwhelmed the top of the rankings:
