Cafero represents Norwalk and New Canaan as the state representative for the 142nd District. He announced in March that he would not be seeking re-election. Norwalk Republicans Fred Wilms and Emily Wilson and Norwalk Democrat Andy Garfunkel have announced that they will vie for Cafero's seat in the house, according to a report from NCAdvertiser.com.
Garfunkel is a former Norwalk town clerk who announced his candidacy in February. Wilms has served as the chair of the Board of Estimate & Taxation and as a member of the Common Council in Norwalk. Wilson is vice chair of the Norwalk Zoning Commission, according to the report.
Both political parties will hold nominating conventions in May, according to the NCAdvertiser.com report. The election is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
