NEW CANAAN, Conn. — Members of a political action committee brought their campaign to impeach President Barack Obama to New Canaan on Tuesday.
“We’re going all over the place, and today it is New Canaan’s turn,” said Matt Guice, a member of the LaRouche Political Action Committee.
Guice and fellow member Frank Mathis stood outside of the New Canaan Post Office with several signs sharing their messages against Obama and other political stances. The two also stopped people walking and driving by in hopes of drawing support to their cause. They also want more people to contact U.S. Rep. Jim Himes to back their beliefs.
“You have to respect the Constitution,” Guice said, saying Obama does not in his approach to the presidency.
According to its website, the LaRouche Political Action Committee believes civilization is collapsing and it offers solutions to prevent that collapse. The group follows Lyndon LaRouche, who according to the website was able to foresee the recent economic collapse by using the LaRouche-Riemann method, which he formed through believing in the American System of Political Economy and in his role as a consultant.
In addition to seeking the impeachment of Obama, the group is looking to reinstate Glass-Steagall, which would sort out the real economy from speculation, and form the North American Water and Power Alliance XXI, which would restore public credit, rebuild the nation and return to the Constitution, the LaRouche Political Action Committee website said.
