Police: New Canaan Family Slept Through Home Break-In

NEW CANAAN, Conn., -- While a New Canaan family slept, someone slipped in through an unlocked door and stole two iPad minis and a pair of Beats by Dre headphones, police said.

The break-in at the Ponus Ridge home located between Davenport Ridge and Frogtown Road occurred sometime overnight Sept. 22, New Canaan police said.

The thief or thieves also stole $50 in cash from a wallet that had been left in a family vehicle, police said. The passenger doors of the family's two vehicles were unlocked, police said.

A neighbor noticed a hatchback parked in the area with three people inside it that night, police said. There was no description of them.

The iPads are worth $300 each, while the headphones are valued at $200, police said. The items had been in the living room of the house, police said.
