Police: Man Caused $65K In Damage To New Canaan Home Under Construction

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A Farmington man cut electrical wires in a house under construction, causing about $65,000 in damages, New Canaan Police said.

Salvatore Paul Germano of Farmington is charged with first-degree criminal mischief, accused of cutting electrical wires to a house under construction and causing thousands of dollars in damage, New Canaan Police said.

Salvatore Paul Germano, 55, of 42 Penfield Place, turned himself in to police Thursday afternoon after learning there was a warrant for his arrest.

Police began investigating June 21 after they were called to a Summit Ridge Road that was under construction when the vandalism was discovered.

Germano was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 15.
