About $4,500 in jewelry and loose change was taken in an apparent break-in at a Knapp Lane residence, police said. Two residents reported Thursday that someone had forced open a rear door of their home and rummaged through their belongings, police said.

The residents reported that an Omega women’s watch valued at $2,500, a pair of gold necklaces valued at $1,000, a gold chain bracelet valued at $1,000 and loose change were missing, police said. Police believe the break-in occurred between 1:15 and 3:15 p.m.

In a separate incident, a Millport Avenue resident reported Thursday she was missing jewelry and medication, police said. A gold ring with diamonds and sapphires, an 18-inch gold chain, a 24-inch gold chain, an aquamarine and diamond necklace and an aquamarine and diamond ring were reported missing, police said, along with oxycodone and other prescription medications valued at $440.

Police said the woman had a friend at her home Sept. 28 and 29. The investigation was ongoing.
