NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan police are investigating to determine whether alcohol was a factor in a four-car crash on Silvermine Road last week that left an 18-year-old man in critical condition, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.
Details are still emerging about the four-car pileup on Thursday, Oct. 30. Police are still not sure which car caused the head-on collision that began the chain-reaction crash. Police have not yet determined whether drugs, alcohol or speeding contributed to the wreck.
One driver is being investigated for possible drunken-driving charges, the New Canaan Advertiser said.
Airbags deployed on all four cars and one driver had to be removed from a vehicle with the Haws of Life, the New Canaan Advertiser reported.
