One Reportedly Killed In New Canaan Shooting

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- One person was killed in a shooting at a home on North Wilton Road in New Canaan Tuesday afternoon, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.

An investigation was under way and no other information was immediately available, officials told the New Canaan Advertiser.

Police told the New Canaanite that they received reports at around 1:30 p.m. of an individual armed with a handgun at 721 North Wilton Road. When officers arrived, they found an individual that had been the victim of a gunshot wound, the New Canaanite reported. The person was treated but did not survive, the New Canaanite said.

This would be the second fatal shooting in Fairfield County in the last 24 hours, after a 25-year-old man was shot and killed during an encounter with police in Stamford Monday night.
